Queens rapper N.O.R.E. has revealed his Top 5 favorite celebrities to follow on Twitter and admitted that rap groupie Kat Stacks has earned a spot on that list.
In addition to Stacks, N.O.R.E. also said artists like Kanye West and Bun B are in his Top 5.
"Kanye West, man," N.O.R.E said as his favorite person to follow. "They say geniuses are usually at the middle of crazy people, and his tweets are just retarded -- he's f*cked up but it's genius in that. So Kanye West is my number one person on Twitter. He's number one. Bun B has been impressing me as of late. Mr. 5 Mics. Congratulations on that. Daniel Tosh. He has a show on Comedy Central that is absolutely mind-blowing to me. He's racial, racist, but it's funny racist. What he does on his show is takes all these clips from the Internet and makes comics out of it. I'm so ashamed to say this, Kat Stacks. [laughs] You 'got' to follow her! I've stopped following her, followed her again, stopped following her, then she did something to another rapper and start following her again -- I've never met Kat Stacks but I have a wonderful relationship with her publicity and you have to follow her on Twitter -- my last one....50-Tyson because you don't know if he's playing yet or not. This is f*cked up, you laughing and you hurting but at the end of the day, his hits are crazy." (VIBE)
Last July, Kanye West joined Twitter and currently has over 1 million followers.
Kanye West is slowly creeping back from self-imposed exile after the Taylor Swift debacle. And it's about time. The bombastic, often-contentious rapper has finally gotten with the times and joined Twitter. It was an unexpected move considering West lambasted the microblogging site in 2009 for allowing an imposter to use his name. In hisblog, West, ever the moral sage, ranted that Twitter was "IRRESPONSIBLE" and "DECEITFUL" and swore he would never join. He brushed it off as a waste of time. (Salon)
Stacks has used Twitter to publicly call out rappers as of late including Slim Thug.
"AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU STILL FAT & YOUR CAREER IS OVER GO APPLY TO BE A GAS STATION JANITOR @SLIMTHUGGA," she wrote in a message to Slim Thug.
"HOW COULD I EVER FIND YOUR D*CK IF YOUR 500 POUND BELLY COVERING IT @SLIMTHUGGA ??"
"I still get booked more than you do b*tch ... stop wasting yo time hating on me & rick ross & put down the chicken wing#FatB*tch" (Kat Stacks' Twitter)
Aside from Twitter, N.O.R.E. recently spoke on the resurgence of East Coast hip-hop.
"A new artist from the East Coast or an older artist from the East Coast comes out and he gets light support as opposed to when these other guys come out, their music is all over our town and then you got your artists that travel to their communities, and they never hear they records," N.O.R.E. told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom. "As far as the East coming back, I feel like we really never went anywhere, it's just that the content of hip-hop wasn't that much relevant. People wanted to dance and now people are so tired of dancing and they so tired of wearing white tees, now it's just time for us to say you know what, it's time to get back to what it's originally made of. I salute Fabolous, he had a great year...I like what he did for the town, I like his new mixtape. Lloyd Banks with Juelz Santana, that's a good look for the city, I salute that."
