Speaking via video announcement, Tim explained his motivation for becoming the latest celebrity to join the Twitter movement.
"Surprise, surprise, save the best for last," Timbaland said in a video. "[I'm] finally on Twitter. So now you can tweet me but probably what I'll be doing, all those other Twitter pages and all those other accounts, this is the real Timbaland account. Timbaland007. I'm getting that clear so everybody with these other fake Timbaland names, this is gonna solidify the real Twitter. I'm here -- so now you can follow me. I'll give you snippets of what I'm doing and why I'm doing the stuff, right here, Timbaland007. All those other Twitter pages? Delete from your Twitter account." (Perception Media Group)
Tim has already used Twitter to announce an upcoming solo project.
"the world is about to be shock," he tweeted Thursday (October 28).

Despite Twitter sparking an interest in artists like 50 Cent and Diddy, R&B singer Monica recently deleted her account.
"Hey there. I want to thank all of u who have been so supportive of myself & family for so many years. I hate to say this But I will no longer be on twitter. I love the fact that I am able to speak to my REAL supporters but it has also become a way for people to do malicious things, when my sole intent was to spread positivity. I love u guys dearly and will find ways to stay in touch. I have dear Friends on twitter & team Monica will make sure u have all information on dates etc...Again I love u guys but this is better for the protection of my children, my family, fiancé and fans. Too much is being said that I didn't say and for a person that believes so strongly in being 100 at ALL times. I just can't do it. I will see all of u guys very soon. I LOVE U ...Take care."
